"The Day after Christmas...... ( Rotten Kids )"
‘Twas the day after Christmas, and all through the town
Were broken bank accounts and this tinkling sound
Of those last little dollars going away
See they were never really many to stay
And all the parents being so very tired
The kids jumped up all fired
To go out on the town with their new toys
All together now, girls and boys
Let’s stand up and reach for that snow
Throwing balls of the powder down the road
While your parents lay exhasted in their beds
Time for you to get up and on the sleds
Sliding up and down those white covered hills
Breaking bones and heads like in Jack and Jill
So later when you go home that day
You can look at your parents and truly say
“Gee Mom and Dad, these presents were great,
Too bad our sleds have broke and our mittens are frayed.”
And their parents look up with that glare in their gaze
Not the least bit fazed
By the amount of toys their children broke today
Or the scraps and bruises they gained while in play
They simply exchange a glance with one another
And fall down under those covers
Too tired to give a rat’s ass
So the children giggle and run out fast
For their play is not quite down for this snow filled night
Oh no, they still have lots of life to bite
For they have been so good for so long this year
They feel a need to give up that fear
Of getting no presents for being naughty
So they get up and prance in all that is gaudy
Well all the gaudy gifts at least
Working off calories from that immense feast
Santa and Rudolph long forgotten
Like those meaningless Christmas trees and stockings
For you must see by now,
These children become evil and foul
But only the day after Christmas you see
For the rest of the Year they think of what’ll be under that tree.
